Tap to Pay lets you accept a contactless card, phone, or smartwatch directly on your own device — no card reader needed.
🟧 Before you start: check your device supports Tap to Pay and you've completed the one-time registration. See Supported devices & requirements and Registering for Tap to Pay.
Take the payment
Tap New payment.
Enter the amount on the Amount tab and tap Confirm amount — or, to sell from your catalogue, switch to the Products tab, add items, tap Checkout, then Create payment. (The app opens on whichever tab you used last.)
On the payment screen, select Tap to Pay. (Other methods sit under Other payment options.)
Ask the customer to present their card, phone, or watch:
iPhone: hold it near the top of your phone.
Android: hold it near the back of your phone.
Keep it still and wait while the payment processes.
💡Pro Tip
✅ Wait for the green tick. The payment is only complete when you see Payment successful. Don't hand over goods until you see it.
After the payment
Add the customer's details if you'd like.
Share a receipt by QR code or your phone's share options — see Send a receipt.
Tap New payment to start the next sale.
