Supporter Cover lets a donor add a small amount to cover Pebl's platform fee, so your organisation receives the full donation. It's the same option your online donors already see (previously called donation surcharging) — and from 1 October 2026 it's available on tap to pay in the Pebl Collect app, replacing card surcharging.
How it works at payment
Build the sale as usual and tap Create payment.
If Supporter Cover is switched on for your location, a Supporter cover prompt appears: "Would the supporter like to add [amount] to ensure the charity receives the full amount?"
The amount is Pebl's platform fee shown as a plain dollar figure — for example $0.18 on a $10 donation, or $1.80 on a $100 payment — not a percentage.
Ask the supporter, then tap Yes to add it or No to skip. It's entirely the donor's choice.
On the Confirm payment screen, if it was added, Supporter Cover shows as a line in the summary and is included in the total. Take the payment as normal.
When a supporter says yes, more of what you raise goes to your cause. This is the same approach used by most major fundraising platforms in Australia and overseas, so supporters are used to seeing it.
To switch Supporter Cover on or off for a location, see Turn Supporter Cover on or off. For the background to this change, see Changes to card surcharging (from 1 October 2026).
