What Happens if a Payment is Interrupted? (e.g., Tap to Pay Fails or is Exited)

Overview:
If a Tap to Pay transaction is interrupted (app closure, network issues, or card issues), your Pebl app ensures the transaction is either safely cancelled or retried.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. If the app closes during a payment:

    • Reopen your Pebl app immediately.

    • Check the Transactions tab for pending or completed status. Open the transaction to view the order information — card number, time and date — giving you confidence the customer was charged.

  2. If a card is removed mid-transaction:

    • The Tap to Pay screen won't show a successful tap if it wasn't completed.

    • Reattempt the payment and ask the customer to present their card or device again.

  3. If payment fails to process:

    • Your Pebl app will show a clear failed-transaction message.

    • No funds are deducted unless the payment is confirmed successful.

FAQs and Troubleshooting Tips:

Will a customer be charged twice if I retry the payment?
No — if a payment initially fails, the customer isn't charged twice on the second try. If unsure, ask the customer to check their bank statement.

How do I know if a payment went through?
Check the Transactions list in your Pebl app to confirm. Open the transaction to view the order information — card number, time and date.
