⚠️ Important — change from 1 October 2026: surcharging Visa and Mastercard payments is generally no longer permitted in Australia. Please read Changes to card surcharging (from 1 October 2026) before you turn surcharging on or leave it on.
Surcharging passes card processing fees on to the customer, so your takings stay whole. It's set per location.
Turn on surcharging
Go to Locations and open a location.
Open its Settings tab.
Under Payment Settings, switch on Enable Surcharging — this automatically passes transaction fees to customers, recovering the full sales amount.
To let donors choose whether to cover the fee on donation products, switch on Donation Surcharging.
Click Save Changes.
