It depends on how your organisation is set up.
Companies and partnerships
Account representative. This is the person who sets up and manages the Pebl account. They provide their name, date of birth and home address, and government-issued photo ID if we ask for it.
Beneficial owners. Anyone who directly or indirectly owns 25% or more of the business must be added and verified. If a holding company owns 25% or more, we need to identify the people behind that company.
Executives and people with significant control. Directors, executive officers and anyone with significant operational or management control must be disclosed. We check them against business registries.
Charities and not-for-profits
Account representative. The person setting up the account completes identity verification the same way.
People with significant control. Charities don't have owners, so you don't need to add anyone who owns 25% or more. Instead, add the people with significant operational control, such as your head of fundraising, board directors, trustees or key executives (for example CEO, Executive Director, President or Treasurer).
Proof of status. We may ask for proof that you're a charity or not-for-profit, such as your ACNC registration or tax-exempt documentation.
How ID documents are checked
Pebl and our verification partners try to verify each person automatically using databases and registries. If that can't confirm their details, we'll ask that specific person to upload government-issued photo ID (a passport or driver's licence) and proof of their home address.
Tips
If the person setting up the account isn't an executive, use the share option in sign-up to send the ID step to the right person.
Names must match the ID exactly, including any middle names.
